Barbara Voors

Barbara Voors (Sweden) is the daughter of a Swedish mother and a Dutch father. In the Netherlands she broke through in 1999 with the novel Zusje van me, in which the life of the protagonist Saskia is shaped by her twin sister Klara, who simply disappears one day.

NRC Handelsblad praised the strong, compelling intensity with which Voors tells her story, placing her in the tradition of contemporary Scandinavian storytelling, which derives its strength from a blend of thriller and psychological novel.

The general public was also impressed: Zusje van me sold 100,000 copies. Her new novel Dooi is therefore also expected to be warmly received.
