Each November we have a NXT special event during the Crossing Border Festival and throughout the year multiple events in our own Borderkitchen venue in The Hague.

Jowi Len
Jowi Len Kemper is a spoken-word artist and writer. Her work explores cross-cultural experiences and themes including identity, sexuality and freedom. Drawing on her perspective as a Third Culture Kid and Southeast Asian woman, she uses storytelling to build bridges and create connections. Her work has been presented through visual media by Het Nieuwe Instituut and Grande Loge.

Malavika Kannan
Malavika Kannan is an American writer and journalist whose work focuses on identity, friendship, queer love, coming of age and the search for belonging. Her novel Unprecedented Times is set during the pandemic and follows a young climate activist as she searches for meaning, connection and her place in the world.
