Tina De Gendt - On the Move (9+)

Tina De Gendt is a historian specializing in migration and urban history. From 2018 to 2023, she served as the in-house historian for STAM (Ghent’s city museum) and toured the city’s "gate districts" for the heritage project “De Vierkante Kilometer” (The Square Kilometer), for which she received a European Heritage Award in 2024. Previously, she contributed to productions such as “Het verhaal van Vlaanderen”(The Story of Flanders) and “Kinderen van de migratie” (Children of Migration) and authored successful books.

Together with Rotterdam-based illustrator Aimée de Jongh, she wrote Onderweg: migraties die de wereld veranderen (On the Move: Migrations That Change the World), a book about key historical migrations and the ways migrants have shaped the world.

At Crossing Border she will present the book Onderweg, followed by an interactive workshop.
