Bio:
Édouard Louis (1992) is a French writer and sociologist. Born Eddy Bellegueule, he grew up in a poor working-class environment in northern France, an experience that lies at the heart of his work. He gained international recognition with his autobiographical debut The End of Eddy (2014), in which he writes about his childhood, his homosexuality, and the social exclusion and poverty in which he was raised.

In his later books, such as History of Violence and Who Killed My Father, he explores the relationship between personal experience and broader social and political structures, such as class, violence, and inequality.

Louis is considered one of the most important and politically engaged voices of his generation. His work is strongly autobiographical and combines literature with sociological analysis and political commitment.
