Taiye Selasi

Taiye Selasi was born in London, grew up in Boston, and currently lives in Rome. She is the daughter of a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother. Her short story The Sex Lives of African Girls was published in Granta Magazine and marked her acclaimed fiction debut. In January her first novel Ghana Must Go was published. It will appear in 15 countries, including the Netherlands, under the title Ghana ga weg.

Ghana ga weg tells the story of the Sai family, who come together after the sudden death of father and husband Kweku Sai. The siblings live scattered across the world and reunite with their mother in Accra, Ghana. Why did the Sai family fall apart? Into what abyss did Kweku pull his relatives? Taiye Selasi paints a sweeping, richly told narrative of an exciting journey across the globe.
