Claire Castillon

Claire Castillon, a young French writer, was born in Boulogne. Since her debut Le Grenier, four books and a play have been published under her name. This year, Insect was released, a striking book with unembellished, sometimes ruthless stories about women. In her realistic, sometimes macabre style with a dark sense of humour, Castillon describes various relationships between mothers and daughters, relationships coloured by jealousy, fear and hatred. This novel marks her breakthrough to a wide audience.
