AUTHOR
DBC PIERRE
DBC Pierre, born in Australia, raised in Mexico and later living in Ireland, has led a turbulent life. After gaining access to his father’s fortune at the age of sixteen, things quickly went downhill. Gambling, fraud, alcohol and drug abuse kept him addicted and broke well into his thirties. The turning point came after rehabilitation and the writing of Vernon God Little, which won the Man Booker Prize in 2003. That same year, DBC Pierre performed with great success at Crossing Border. During BorderKitchen, the author will speak in public for the first time about his new book Ludmilla’s Broken English, which will be published worldwide in early March. Ludmilla’s Broken English is a powerful book full of sarcastic humour, social satire and sexual madness.
