AUTHOR
LIONEL SHRIVER
Lionel Shriver was born in North Carolina and lived in Nairobi, Bangkok and Belfast in succession. She currently lives in London. In 2005 she won the prestigious Orange Prize, awarded exclusively to female authors, for her controversial novel We Need to Talk about Kevin.
In that book she addresses the terrifying question: is it upbringing or genetics when your own child turns out to be a murderer? In De wereld na zijn verjaardag, Lionel Shriver once again tells a compelling story, and ultimately works out two possible outcomes for her protagonist: to cheat or not to cheat.
“A layered and uncompromising portrait of infidelity — with a story that is skilfully split in two.” — Kirkus Reviews
