St. Paul & the Broken Bones

St. Paul & the Broken Bones released its second full-length album, Sea of Noise – a quantum leap in sound and style for the Alabama-based band. Since their 2013 debut Half the City – ‘60s soul fire with latter-day influences like Bowie and Prince – they evolved, deepened and broadened their musical reach and lyrical concerns. The album’s lyrical and emotional richness is heard in stunning new compositions, and in meaningful lyrics on finding redemption, salvation and hope. They opened for the Stones recently, and have got bigger plans, too: lead singer Janeway: “I love the Rolling Stones, but my train of thought is, you gotta try and blow ‘em off the stage.”
