Belle Idée

Crossing Border has a long history of French-language guests. Not only has the festival welcomed authors from France proper (including Michel Houellebecq and Abd al Malik), but also voices from the French-speaking world outside of Europe (such as Mahi Binebine) and those who have to juggle two cultures (Fatou Diome). It is exactly those non-European writers who will be in the centre of attention this year. After all, a major part of world literature is written in French.
Please note: all interviews with the authors will be held in French by moderator Pieter van den Blink. A conversational level of French is recommended.
