Franca Treur grew up in a strict Dutch Reformed family in Zeeland, but fell from her faith in her early twenties. In 2009, she debuted with her novel Dorsvloer vol confetti (‘Threshing floor full of confetti’), a portrait of a young girl that feels like a slice of her own life. The book sold over 150,000 copies, won many awards and was adapted into a motion picture. On the 4th of October, her latest novel Hoor nu mijn stem (‘Hear my voice now’) will appear, which, like her successful debut, has an emphasis on psychology and religion.
Franca Treur shares the stage with Sally Rooney. They will be interviewed by Arjan Peters.
