Fatma Aydemir

Fatma Aydemir (1986) grew up in Karlsruhe, Germany, as the daughter of Turkish immigrants. She studied German and American Literature in Frankfurt and currently she lives in Berlin, where she is working as a journalist for the leftist daily newspaper taz. She also writes for the feminist magazine Missy and the music magazine Spex. Her debut novel Ellbogen was published in 2017 and deals with migration and violence. In the Netherlands it will be published in October 2017 by Signatuur.

On Friday Fatma Aydemir will share the stage with Gerda Blees, Sytske van Koeveringe, Roelof ten Napel and Diego Zúñiga. On Saturday she will be part of The Chronicles. During The Chronicles her work will be translated by Elbert Besaris.
