Scotsman David Keenan was a musician until he fully focused on writing in 2008. For years he wrote about music, his passion. For example, he wrote a biography about bands, Nurse With Wound, Coil and Current 93, and was a lead contributor to The Wire. This year, his debut novel ‘This is Memorial Device’ came out, a love letter to the punk scene in Scotland in the 70’s and 80’s. In this fictional history of an underground band in Catholic Airdrie, he honours misfits and idealists. There’s a reason Keenan’s favourite Beatle is Yoko Ono.
David Keenan shares the stage with John Niven. They will be interviewed by Henk van Straten.
