Benjamin Booker

Racial hatred was previously the rule rather than the exception in the life of 27-year-old bluesman Benjamin Booker, who grew up in the southern United States. His latest album Witness, is full of anger and indignation about continuing racism, but also calls for connection and togetherness. Drawn from the hundred-year-old blues tradition, and including trash, punk and soul influences, the album was released by ATO Records, the club of among others, Alabama Shakes, My Morning Jacket and Hurray for the Riff Raff.
